CORRECTIVE EXERCISE

REHABILITATION/

ADVANCED TECHNIQUES

Everybody benefits from a good stretch, but not everybody has had the opportunity to receive a professional partner-assisted stretch.

Just when you think your hamstrings are too tight, or my right arm has always been stronger than my left, there just might be an underlying factor that is contributing to muscle tightness, forming constant knots, and limiting you from not only progress, but creates a struggle performing normal daily tasks.

What might not be a big deal now could result in a huge deal later.

We can help to identify the associated muscles contributing to your complaint, and fine-tune your body so you can always be at your best, perform at your optimal level, and walk out feeling refreshed.

Meet Jamie Lens, our very own Licensed Physical Therapist.

After an individual's initial assessment there will be a detailed discussion outlining our findings and how a program can be developed to the comfort of the patient.

In many cases, exercise alone may not be enough.

In some cases, one might be suggested to limit exercise and incorporate advanced techniques to avoid exacerbating the chief complaint, or primary concern, until improvement occurs.

Several of these methods might include, but are not limited to:

MAT - Muscle Activation Technique

"MAT® is:

  • A revolutionary approach to the assessment and correction of muscular imbalances, joint instability, and limitations in range of motion within the human body.

  • A non-invasive technique, designed to balance the muscular system of people of all ages.

  • A unique systematic format used to "jumpstart" the muscles in order for them to function with maximum efficiency."

(For more information regarding MAT, please visit https://muscleactivation.com)

ART - Active Release Technique

"ART® is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles."

AIS - Active Isolated Stretching and Myofascial Release

"The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of Athletic Stretching Technique that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups, but more importantly, AIS provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes."

Myofascial Release

"Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate."
